MyPerfectAutomobile reports that NEVS, the new owners of Saab, have expressed an intention to produce an electric vehicle as their initial issue under the new management team. Speculation is rife that the car will be an electrified version of the Saab 9-3 sedan. GM displayed an emergency backup power source for homes that runs off five Chevy Volt car batteries and which can power several private residences for about two hours. Throughout 2013, Ford Motor Co. will vastly expand the number of its dealerships that are qualified to sell hybrid and electric vehicles. Ford dealers who wish to sell the cars are required to go through extensive training and education programs. The Chevrolet Spark EV will be displayed at the upcoming LA Auto Show in late Nov. and early Dec. So far, details about the vehicle’s specs have been scant, and media outlets are hoping that the LA Show will be the venue where the automaker divulges more data about the industry’s newest electric car. Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk made some candid statements concerning the future of electric transportation during a public appearance this week. It was the fist time the auto executive has provided his opinion on the topic since the recent U.S. presidential election.
