MyPerfectAutomobile reports on the Fiat 500e appearance at the upcoming LA Auto Show, where it will join two other 500 cars on display. Also at the event will be one of the electric Fiat’s rivals, the Chevy Spark EV. Honda Motor Co. announced that its newest electric concept car, the Micro Commuter Prototype, would be geared for small families and older drivers, and features a maximum speed of 50 mph. GM looks to produce approximately 500,000 electric and hybrid cars per year by 2017, the company has announced. A spokesperson for the automaker stated that GM will focus on plug-in vehicles of the hybrid or electric variety. Nissan Motor Co. CEO, Carlos Ghosn, told reporters this week that the automaker intends to capture at least 8 percent of the global vehicle market within five years, and perhaps 10 percent of the U.S. market. Motor Trend Magazine named the Tesla Model S Car of the Year for 2013. Editors of the publication noted that the electric luxury sedan outpaced competition for the award with a combination of style, performance, and value.
