Nitto Tire sponsored driver John Urist ended the race season on a high note, winning a record-breaking eighth NMRA Championship. Urist piloted his 1993 Ford Mustang into history in the ProCharger Super Street Outlaw category. Urist was neck and neck in points all year long with fellow competitor Phil Hines until the last race where Urist would win with a 7.26 run at 194 mph.
